Introducing Ashley Square at South Park in Charlotte, NC. Out of a total of 178 units, Ashley Square reserves 36 apartments (one- and two-bedroom apartment homes) for households participating in the Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) Program. The goal in participating in the FSS program is for each household to graduate from needing rental assistance to being able to afford market rate housing. Working with a Case Manager experienced in building job and household budgeting skills, each FSS participant develops and signs a contract that spells out specific goals to achieve self sufficiency within their program participation period.
The Case Worker meets with the participant at least one time per month to evaluate the participant’s progress toward achieving this goal and ensure that the participant is living up to the terms of his/her FSS contract.
The Family Self Sufficiency Program is funded nationally by HUD and administered locally by Inlivian. Inlivian has been recognized nationally for its leadership in obtaining successful outcomes for its FSS participants.
